Medical Assistant Student Scholarships
Texas Society of Medical Assistants (TSMA) is a tri-level professional organization serving local, state and national members in the medical assisting field of medicine. The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is our governing body. The AAMA provides certification as well as continuing educations and other services to its members. Student medical assistants, as well as other professionals, are welcome to join AAMA.
What is the Texas Society of Medical Assistants Student Scholarship?
This program has been established for the purpose of providing educational assistance to deserving medical assisting students. The scholarship fund is supported entirely by TSMA members and private contributions.

Who is eligible to apply?
Current student members of AAMA enrolled in and having completed a minimum of one quarter or semester at a post-secondary medical assisting program and having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. (Last year for this requirement)
How are scholarships awarded?
The scholarship committee reviews all applications comprised of the following. The selection depends on the applicant’s original essay, most recent transcripts, and letter of reference. Essays will be judged on originality, creativity, content, grammar, punctuation and following instructions as stated. Applicants must be in full time education at the time that the scholarship is awarded.

Deadline for Receipt of Applications: March 12, 2021. Scholarship will be awarded at TSMA Annual Conference in April 2021.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Scholarship awards are issued to the registrar of the educational institution you are attending. These funds must be disbursed only for educational expenses, such as books, uniforms, and fees.
